Top 5 Cannibals in Film

Silence of the Lambs – Hannibal Lecter

This wouldn’t be a top five cannibals list without a mention of our good friend Mr Lecter. One of the most famous cannibal movies in history, Silence of the Lambs not only received worldwide critical acclaim but won five top academy awards! Made famous by the quote “I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti” Anthony Hopkins has made his fortune through being a face muncher but regardless of this we still don’t feel like we’d want to be in a room with him for too long!

The Descent 2 – Crawlers
Just saying the word crawlers will put a shiver down your spine and to look at they don’t get much better either! Creatures that quite literally live in pitch black the Crawlers featured in the Descent live off unsuspecting cavers that go to explore the dark and mysterious realms of the caves.

Alive – Survivors of the plane crash
Ok so these guys aren’t exactly your intentional flesh eating weirdos but they still nommed on a nice bit of human after getting stranded in the Ande’s and being forced to fight for survival. A true story, “Alive” is based on the tale of the Uruguayan rugby team and their fight to survive and endure the freezing plains of the Andes after their plane suddenly crashes. Pushed to their limits and out of food members of the team are forced to eat those who didn’t survive to survive themselves! Ew!

Leatherface – Texas Chainsaw Massacre
If there was ever a character from a horror film that could have given you the wibblies as a kid Leatherface was most definitely that character. With a face made of other peoples skin and those haunting dark eyes it’s no wonder The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of the most iconic horrors of its time.

Cannibalistic mountain men – Wrong Turn
Last but not least is wackjob, West Virginian hill billy 3 Finger and his equally screw loose family. Much like the lengendary “The Hills Have Eyes”, Wrong Turn is about a violent, inbred, cannibal family that live in a cabin in the middle of no where and feed upon the unfortunate people who get lost in the outback.  Not only highly unattractive but also incredibly gory the Wrong Turn mountainmen are some of the craziest cannibals around! Good times!
